Understanding the Legality of Parking Violations with ParkiT

When parking on properties operated or patrolled by Park-It Solutions Ltd. , you should be fully aware of the legal framework that governs parking violations.

1. Legal Basis:
Our authority to issue parking violations, demand payment, and/or tow improperly parked vehicles derives from two primary legal principles:

  • Law of Contract: When parking on our properties, you enter into a contract where you agree to abide by the terms and conditions set out by us.
  • Law of Trespass: Unauthorized or incorrectly parked vehicles may be considered as trespassing on private property.

2. Non-Payment Implications:

  • If the amount indicated in the parking violation isn’t settled within the specified days, we may forward the debt to a collection agency. Consequently, this can lead to additional charges being levied against the registered owner of the parked vehicle.
  • It’s essential to understand that unpaid parking fines can potentially affect your credit score.

3. Alternative to Towing:
The violation fee is an alternative to having your vehicle towed. However, in certain situations, both actions might be applied. If the vehicle repeatedly violates our terms on our properties, we reserve the right to tow and impound it until all related fees are settled.

4. Legal Recourse:
Should you fail to address your dues, we might initiate legal action to recover all debts, associated costs (both direct and indirect), and any legal costs incurred during the process.

5. Registered Owner Information:
By parking on our patrolled properties, you grant Park-It Solutions Ltd. and its agents the permission to obtain the registered owner’s details. This information, including the name and address of the vehicle owner, is utilized for the sole purpose of collecting parking fees and associated fees.

Always ensure you are parking correctly and adhering to the rules set out by Park-It Solutions Ltd. to avoid any inconveniences and potential financial implications.
